We’ll listen, help you understand your options and either support you directly or connect you with the right organisation.

Who can join

All ages, for anyone living in East Renfrewshire

How can I join

Referral/ Self-referral required

Does It Cost Anything

There is no cost to self-refer to Talking Points, we may signpost you to a service/group who do charge, depending on the advice or support you are looking for, but we will give you as much information as we can about that first.

Frequency & Time

It is important to note that Talking Points is a non-urgent service. We have a weekly screening group on a Tuesday afternoon, where all the referrals for that week are discussed, so that we can direct you to the right support and advice for you.

Named worker

Talking Points is a partnership of many organisations, so it may be us or one of our partner organisations who contact you.

Anything I may need?

Once you have completed a self-referral form, we will add it to our weekly screening group to discuss how best to help with the information you have given us.

The more information you can give us about your circumstances the better and if you have a preference of how you would like to be contacted, please tell us this too. Someone will then be in touch with you as soon as possible afterwards. We try our best to contact as soon as we can, but sometimes it can be a week or more depending on when we receive the referral between screening groups.

Talking Points is a partnership of many organisations working together to help get the best outcome for each person, so it may be one of our partner organisations who contact you. For example, if you are a young carer needing some support with your responsibilities, we would pass this to East Renfrewshire Carers Centre and it would be a member of staff from there who would make contact with you.
