Neilston Men’s Group

A club that provides an opportunity for men to socialise.

Neilston Men’s Group, which is based in the church halls of Neilston Parish Church, meets bi-weekly but will be running on a weekly basis from November 2023.

As well as enjoying breakfasts cooked by chairman Raymond Kerr and a chat, the group’s members, who are aged from 31 to 86, also benefit from a varied range of outings. Since February outings have also taken place to Dams to Darnley Country Park, Harelaw Dam, The Burrell Collection, Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, Lochwinnoch RSPB Nature Reserve, Fairfield Heritage community museum, Whitelee Windfarm, and J&M Murdoch's transport museum.

The Neilston Men's Group is a local community group offering support and friendship to local men in our wee village in East Renfrewshire.Our main objective is to facilitate the continued wellbeing of men living in the Neilston area.

As an institution, we offer a space for men to come together, in a safe and welcoming environment, to engage in a range of activities that promote social interaction and help to combat loneliness and poor mental health.

Through constructive, topical, and humorous conversation, we hope to engender an environment in which the men of Neilston can thrive.

Where affordable, our organization plans to provide activities in off-site locations. Such places of interest will be chosen by consensus between members and the board. The excursions will be undertaken in order to necessitate the importance of bonding between men in the Neilston area, and to provide the opportunity for friendships to flourish between members.

Please be aware that our membership is currently at capacity so new applicants will be added to a waiting list. That said, given some successful funding applications, we're reviewing that soon.
