Kindness Buddy

Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire is looking for local people with a flexible approach to volunteering, willing to get involved in all sorts of activities to suit the people who need support in their community.

As a Kindness Buddy, you might help someone with the following:

• Purchasing some items of shopping for a few weeks
• Popping in for a chat
• Take someone to a weekly activity/group
• Support a local carer with a much-needed regular break
• Help someone get back out into the community after a period of isolation

Any other support request presented to usSome people may need short-term support, but others may require you for longer. Either way, we will agree on this at the outset.

Kindness Buddies must be flexible, personable, patient, considerate, calm, and above all else, kind! A great sense of humour is helpful too.

As a Kindness Buddy, you may be actively volunteering every week for a while but then find there is a quiet spell. You may prefer to help with one project or be happy to help across various. The choice is yours.

The role would present an excellent opportunity to learn and develop new skills whilst providing an invaluable service across your local community.
