About the Activity (What It Is and What It’s Like)

Aged 14-17? The 1st Neilston Scout Group is relaunching our Explorer Scouts section and is looking for new members! Come along to meet people, try new things, build skills and have some fun. You can be new to scouting or rejoining. There is a weekly programme that runs around exam times, and camps/events in the pipeline too.

There's data to support that scout members feel more confident to enter the workplace and that the skills learned through scouting helped them in their careers.

The Beavers (ages 6-8), Cubs (ages 8-10.5) and Scouts (ages 10.5-14) sections in Neilston are currently full and running a waiting list.

There is more about the Explorer programme on the Scout Association website: https://www.scouts.org.uk/explorers/

Anything I may need?

Scouting is a uniformed organisation, and so members wear their uniform to the meetings and camps/events. This doesn't need to be purchased straight away, though, so they can wear own clothes for the first couple of weeks.
