Tuesday Afternoon Tea Baker
Tuesday Afternoon Tea Baker
Mearns Kirk Helping Hands
About us
Our main aims are to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve health and wellbeing for older adults and people living with dementia.
About the role
We've recently started offering Tuesday Afternoon Teas, every second Tuesday. The idea is older adults can come along and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea but take the opportunity to meet new people at the same time. We're looking for volunteers who enjoy baking and would like to contribute their talents to helping make our Tuesday Afternoon teas special for those attending. It could be baking scones, making cupcakes or traybakes, whatever you can make, we're sure our members will enjoy!
Baking will also be done on a rota basis ideally, so you may not need to bake every second Tuesday.
We also ask that bakers complete a level 2 Food Hygiene Course. We can provide an online training link for this and we will cover the cost of the training.
Home baking would ideally be dropped off on the morning of the Afternoon Tea session and we ask volunteers to complete allergen awareness charts to accompany their baking.
If you have a bit of spare time, love to bake and would like to support a lovely afternoon out for older adults, this could be the role for you.
