This is why Jewish Care Scotland offer financial assistance in various ways. Reserved for the immediate relief of short-term financial pressures, made possible by the generous support of various trusts within the community.
Jewish Care Scotland accept applications from anyone within the community who is experiencing financial hardship, all you have to do is call to discuss your situation with a member of our team. Your enquiry will be completely confidential.
Please be aware that as a charity we are duty bound to evidence that we are spending charity funds appropriately and as such access to the fund requires us to carry out an assessment of your financial situation. All assessments are strictly confidential and you are under no obligation to provide any financial information in relation to your income and expenditure, however please be aware that the success of your application may be affected if you do not supply the information required to make an informed decision.
JCS is aware of the additional costs that arise at certain times of the year, including Jewish holidays and even school holidays. They are pleased to have introduced specific grants that are available in the lead up to these times, to assist with the additional costs incurred.
These grants are targeted at those struggling most (those on low incomes who have very limited contingency or opportunity to economise. The Minimum Income Standard is a tool we use to assess income as it is independently calculated and takes into account the income needed to maintain a decent standard of living, as opposed to basic need.
