If you’re looking to cut down food costs, learn to cook or how to grow your fruit and veg, there are number of local community groups and projects you can join.
Foodbank is an initiative that provide emergency food to the people of East Renfrewshire. To use the foodbank, you will usually require a a voucher from another local organisation, e.g. local Citizen Advice Bureau, Money Advice and Rights Team (MART), Social Work, The Community Hub or Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire.

This volunteer run service provides a variety of food, parcels, pet food and essential items to individuals, couples and families in need.
No referral required and the support is not means tested. The service offers home deliveries for those without transport.

If you are struggling to feed your pet, a South Side charity, Give a Dog a Bone, runs a Pet Foodbank at their community space in Shawlands.
Because of storage limitations, please call ahead a day or two in advance so they can ensure sufficient supplies.
