PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We need your help to brighten someone’s day!
Afternoon Tea Volunteers will help with the set-up, meet and greet people attending the afternoon tea event, socialise and help with the serving of the tea and cakes. Volunteers will also assist with clearing up at the end of the Afternoon Tea Session.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people's lives. For some attendees, the afternoon tea may be their main or only opportunity for social interaction during the week, so a friendly conversation can have a significant positive impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up tables for people attending the event.
Welcome visitors and help them find a seat.
Provide support with serving refreshments to the visitors and having a friendly chat with those attending.
Help to clear up at the end.
VOLUNTEER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must be 16 years or older.
Willing to follow confidentiality and boundaries guidelines.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING
The Volunteer will receive continuous support from the Volunteer Coordinator.
All volunteers will receive induction training before starting 1st shift.
VOLUNTEER HOURS
Afternoon Teas are on Thursdays from 1 pm to 4 pm, volunteers can choose if they want to help weekly, every other week or once per month etc.
VOLUNTEER EXPENSES
Travel expenses are available.
