Role

Bowel Cancer UK - Peer Support Volunteers

Group / Organisation

Bowel Cancer UK

About the role

About us

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

About the role

We have a number of opportunities available to support our peer support services, these include moderating our Facebook groups and forum. To be eligible for these roles you must have or have had a diagnosis of bowel cancer or  have a close friend or family member who has or has had bowel cancer.

We’re looking for volunteer moderators who can use their knowledge and experience of bowel cancer to help us ensure our range of groups are a supportive, friendly and welcoming space. If you’re comfortable using Facebook and have around four hours a week you’d like to dedicate to supporting our group then this could be the role for you.

Alternatively, our online forum offers focused support to people living with and affected by bowel cancer, helping to connect people and enable members to give and receive support. If you would like to use your knowledge and experience of bowel cancer to support others via our forum then we would love to hear from you.
